Opéra de Lille has announced its 2020-21 season featuring opera and concerts.

Here is a look at the French season.

Opera 

Eva Zaïcik, Tassis Christoyannis, Samuel Boden, Hélène Carpentier, Chiara Skerath, Frédéric Caton, Victor Sicard, Yoann Dubruque, and Enguerrand de Hys star in Campra’s “Idoménée.” Emmanuelle Haïm conducts Àlex Ollé / La Fura dels Baus’ production.

Performance Dates: Oct. 9-17, 2020

Étienne Bazola, Jeroen Bredenwold, Renaud Bres, Deborah Cachet, Caroline Dangin-Bardot, Perrine Devillers, Stéphanie Leclercq, Ilektra Platiopoulou, Marie Pouchelon, René Ramos Premier, Antonin Rondepierre, David Tricou, and Caroline Weynants star in “Le Ballet Royal de la Nuit.” Sébastien Daucé conducts.

Performance Date: Nov. 18 & 19, 2020

Mozart’s “Bastien und Bastienne” is set to be conducted by Arie van Beek with a production by Sylvie Baillon. Marthe Davost, Maxime Melnik, and Sreten Manojlovic star.

Performance Dates: Jan. 15 & 16, 2021

Frédéric Blondy and Arthur Lavandier’s “Au Coeur de L’Ocean” will be conducted by Maxime Pacal with Isabelle Duthoit, Claire Bergerault, and Alex Nowitz.

Performance Dates: Feb. 4 & 5, 2021

Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” stars Julien Behr and Vannina Santoni in the title roles with Alexandre Duhamel, Marie-Ange Todorovitch, and Jean Teitgen. François-Xavier Roth conducts the production by Daniel Jeanneteau.

Monteverdi’s “I Silenti” stars Claron McFadden and Nicola Wemyss.

Performance Dates: April 19 & 21, 2021

Gluck’s “Orphée et Eurydice” stars Fiona McGown, Mariamielle Lamagat, and Agathe Peyrat . Romain Louveau conducts the production by Thomas Bouvet.

Performance Dates: April 22 & 23, 2021

Joyce El-Khoury sings the title role in Puccini’s “Tosca” with Jonathan Tetelman as Cavaradossi and Gevorg Hakobyan. Alexandre Bloch conducts the production by Robert Carsen. The opera will be broadcast later in the month.

Concerts 

Maud Kauffmann, Elsa Cantor, and Olivier Lautem perform Des Nuits with music by Berg, Debussy, Ligeti, Poulenc, Respighi, Saariaho, Schubert, and Schumann.

Fazil Say and Marianne Crebassa perform French Melodies by Duparc, Debussy, Ravel, Satie, Say and Fauré.

Camilla Tilling, Robin Tritschler, and Mikhail Timoshenko perform Haydn’s “Die Jahreszeiten” with Emmanuelle Haïm.

Victoire Bunel and pianist Alphonse Cemin join Quatuor Van Kuijk for an evening of music by French composers.

Performance Date: Dec. 15, 2020

Julian Prégardien and Éric Le Sage perform Schumann’s Liederkreis and Nachtstücke.

Performance Date: Jan. 19, 2021

Bach’s “St. Matthew’s Passion” will be performed by Robin Tritschler, Stéphane Degout, Hana Blažíková, Lucile Richardot, Tim Mead, Thomas Hobbs, and Christian Immler with Raphaël Pichon conducting Pygmalion.

Performance Dates: April 6 & 7, 2021

The Chœur de l’Opéra de Lille perform music by Whitacre, Rutter, Lauridsen, Chilcott, Shaffer, and Garland.
