The Opéra de Monte-Carlo has announced that Joyce El-Khoury will be appearing in its Bel Canto Concert scheduled for Feb. 5 and 7, 2021.

El-Khoury will step in for soprano Olga Peretyako, who was originally scheduled to perform but has had to bow out due to pregnancy. El-Khoury will now perform alongside mezzo-soprano Karine Deshayes.

The duo will perform in music from Rossini’s “Semiramide;” Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena,” “Maria Stuarda,” and “Roberto Devereux;” and Bellini’s “Norma.”

Conductor Riccardo Frizza will lead the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo in the showcase.

The company is currently scheduled to present “Le Comte Ory,” a recital featuring Bryn Terfel, “I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata,” and “Boris Godunov.”

The Opéra de Monte-Carlo recently announced that it would be changing its schedule for upcoming performances of “Thaïs” due to ongoing concerns over COVID-19.
