The Sopot Classic International Music Festival has announced its 13th edition which will be held between July 1 and 9. Here are the vocal performances.

The Festival was established on the initiative of the City of Sopot and the management of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Sopot. In 2023, the artistic director of the Festival, Wojciech Rajski invites the audience on a journey through the music culture of the USA.

The season opens with an American Concert that will feature music by George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, and film music hits from “Star Wars,” “Casablanca,” “Schindler’s List” and songs from popular musicals. The stars of the evening will be American baritone Lester Lynch and Polish pianist Leszek Możdżer. The Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Sopot will be conducted by Maestro Marcin Nałęcz Niesiołowski.

The baroque concert will feature conductor William Christie and his ensemble Les Arts Florissants. Countertenors Carlo Vistoli and Hugh Cutting perform music by Marini, Monteverdi, Steffani, Caldara, Vivaldi, Bononcini, and Händel.

The Festival closes with a special concert by Joyce DiDonato. She will be joined by the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Sopot under Maestro Michał Klauza. The program includes music by Bizet, Luna, Mozart, and Händel.
