Joyce DiDonato Headlines Royal Opera House’s New January Streams

The Royal Opera House will continue its #OurHouseToYourHouse program featuring online broadcasts, musical masterclasses, and cultural highlights that can be accessed by audiences around the world.

The series will continue on Jan. 15 with a stream of Frederick Ashton’s Royal Ballet production of “Marguerite and Armand.” The ballet is based on Alexandre Dumas fils’ “La Dame aux camélias,” and is set to the music of Liszt. The production stars principal Zenaida Yanowsky in her final performance with the Company as Marguerite, while Guest Artist Roberto Bolle performs the role of Armand. Robert Clark is the solo pianist and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House is conducted by Emmanuel Plasson.

On Jan. 22 the company will present Massenet’s “Cendrillon” starring Joyce DiDonato, Alice Coote, Ewa Podleś, and Eglise Gutiérrez. Bertrand de Billy conducts the acclaimed Laurent Pellu production.

The Royal Opera is also making The Royal Opera Christmas Concert, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and Andrea Chénier available for purchase.

BBC  iplayer has also made the Royal Ballet All-Star Gala and Royal Opera All-Star Gala available while audiences can listen to Tobias Kratzer’s 2020 production of “Fidelio” starring Lise Davidsen as Leonore and David Butt Philip as Florestan on iplayer.
