By Logan Martell

On May 15, 2023, the New York Festival of Song will host its annual spring gala, “Feelin’ Groovy: Songs from the 60s.”

Held at the Racquet & Tennis Club on Park Avenue, the gala will support NYFOS’ 35th season. There will be a performance featuring special guest artists including Julie Benko of Broadway’s “Funny Girl,” jazz pianist Jason Yeager, tenors Joshua Blue and Daniel McGrew, and mezzo-soprano Lucia Bradford. The program will pay homage to the works of artists such as Laura Nyro, Simon & Garfunkel, Jonit Mitchell, and the Beatles, along with Motown hits.

Blue recently released his debut album with NYFOS, titled “Black and Blue,” with pianist Steven Blier. Having performed a number of operatic roles worldwide, Bradford also appears as a soloist in concert works with leading companies, and as a performer of jazz, gospel, and blues.

Proceeds from the events will help support NYFOS’ operatic and concert programming.
