
Josh Groban Performs ‘Zadok the Priest’ Arrangement at the Oscars

The singer performed the work in a parody sketch with the Los Angeles Master Chorale as Conan O’Brien was being coronated the king for Best Achievement in his opening monologue.
“Zadok the Priest” is a British anthem that was composed by Händel for the coronation of George II in 1727 and is one of Händel’s coronation anthems.
The performance represents classical music which is also being represented this year at the Oscars by Ana Maria Martinez, who is on the song “Sweet Dreams of Joy” from “Viva Verdi,” which is nominated for Best Original Song and Sonya Yoncheva, who is attending alongside her husband conductor Domingo Hindyan.
