Josep Vicent Joins Argovia Philharmonic as Music Director
By Francisco SalazarJosep Vicent has been named Music Director of Switzerland’s Argovia Philharmonic.
The contract will be for an initial four years beginning during the 2025-26 season and Vicent will succeed outgoing conductor Rune Bergmann.
In a statement, Vicent said, “The Argovia Philharmonic and I have shared beautiful programs in recent months and I personally felt a strong connection with the orchestra. We have a lot in common on an artistic level and I am very excited about future plans to build links even stronger with audiences in Switzerland and beyond. And I must say that I fell in love with Argovia from the first moment. More importantly, I am deeply grateful and appreciate the trust and support of the musicians and the orchestra’s management. It’s really exciting!”
Vicent has conducted regularly with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, and Belgian National Orchestra. He is the General Music Director of the Principal Conductor position at ADDA Symphony Orchestra.
