The Riga Jurmala Music Festival has announced its 2022 slate.

For the purpose of this article we will focus on the vocal works only.

Soprano Pretty Yende, mezzo-soprano Alice Coote, tenor Julien Prégardien, and bass René Pape perform Mozart’s Requiem in D minor, K. 626. The rest of a program features Sibelius’ Symphony No. 4 in A minor, op. 63. Klaus Mäkelä conducts the Mariss Jansons Festival Orchestra.

Performance date: Aug. 6, 2022

Tenor Joseph Calleja presents a selection of arias from operas by composers such as Puccini, Verdi, and Donizetti, and songs written by Tosti and de Crescenzo, among others. Ramón Tebar conducts the Latvian National Opera Orchestra.

Performance date: Aug. 7, 2022

British fast rising tenor Freddie De Tommaso sings music by Liszt, Puccini, Verdi, Tosti, Gastaldon, De Curtis, Marchese, Buzzi-Peccia, and Cardillo alongside pianist Jonathan Papp.

The Festival opens on July 1, and is set to run through Aug. 28, 2022.
