José Carreras Postpones Farewell Tour

José Carreras has postponed his farewell tour due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The tenor announced via social media that his concert in Helsinki will not take place on April 3, 2020. He also announced that his South American Tour in May would be rescheduled.

Carreras was expected to perform in São Paulo, Santiago de Chile, and Bogotá throughout the month May and is expected to conclude the tour this year.

The legendary tenor began his farewell tour in 2016 and has performed all over the world including Carnegie Hall.

“’A Life in Music’ reflects all the music which I have sung or recorded in my entire career. I think it is a great selection,” the tenor told OperaWire in and interview prior to his New York farewell.
