José Bros, Berna Perles, Sara Blanch & Joel Prieto Lead Ópera de Oviedo’s 2022-23 Season

Spain’s Ópera de Oviedo has announced its 2022-23 season celebrating its 75th anniversary

The season opens with the world premiere of “La dama del alba” by Luis Vázquez del Fresno. Rubén Díaz conducts a production by Emilio Sagi. The work stars Beatriz Díaz, Berna Perles, Sandra Ferrández, Maite Alberola, Carmen Solís, María Zapata, Luis López Navarro, David Lagares, Alessandra Volpe, Marina Pinchuk, Carlos Mena, Juan Noval-Moro, Ruth González, and Santiago Vidal.

Performance Dates: Sept. 11-17, 2022

Bellini’s “Norma” will be conducted by Iván López Reynoso in a production by Mario Pontiggia. Julianna Di Giacomo and Berna Perles star in the title role with José Bros, Giacomo Prestia, Luis López Navarro, Paola Gardina, and Anna Pennisi.

Performance Dates: Oct. 6-15, 2022

Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” is set to be conducted by Elena Mitrevska and directed by Marta Eguilior. The cast will include Jacques Imbrailo, Ihor Voievodin, Joel Prieto, Juan de Dios Mateos, Vanessa Goikoetxea, Laura del Río, Rubén Amoretti, Enric Martínez-Castignani, Fernando Latorre, María Rey-Joly, Irene Palazón, Auxiliadora Toledano, Laura Brassó, David Lagares, and Sojin Yang.

Performance Dates: Nov. 13-19, 2022

David Menéndez, Sara Blanch, Béatrice Uria Monzon, Simón Orfila, Alejandro del Cerro, and Javier Castañeda lead Tomas’ “Hamlet” with Marc Piollet conducting a production by  Susana Gómez.

Performance Dates: Dec. 8-17, 2022

The season concludes with Verdi’s “Ernani” starring Alejandro Roy, Juan Jesús Rodríguez, Stéphanie Müther, and Gianfranco Montresor. Danielle Callegari conducts the production by Giorgia Guerra.

Performance Dates: Jan. 29-Feb. 4, 2023
