On Nov. 16, 2021, the Bilbao Opera is set to present the double bill of “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci.”

The production will star Jorge de León in both works as Turiddu and Canio.

The tenor will be joined Ekaterina Semenchuk as Santuzza, Ambrogio Maestri as Alfio, Belén Elvira as Lola, and Elena Zilio as Mamma Lucia in Mascagni’s work. Meanwhile, the cast for Leoncavallo’s work will star Rocío Ignacio as Nedda, Ambrogio Maestri as Tonio, Carlos Daza as Silvio, Mikeldi Atxalandabaso as Beppe, and Gexan Etxabe as Un contadino.

Daniel Oren will conduct the Euskadiko Orkestra in a production by Joan Anton Rechi. This rendition of the two operas will feature set design by Gabriele Moreschi, lighting by Alberto Rodríguez, and costume design by Mercè Palom.

“Cavalleria Rustican” and “Pagliacci” will also be performed on Nov. 20, 23, 26, and 29, 2021.
