Jonathan Tetelman & Jodie Devos Lead Opera Orchestre National De Montpellier’s 2019-20 Season

Opéra de Montpellier has announced its 2019-20 season featuring contemporary and numerous classic works.

The season opens with Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” starring Karah Son, Fleur Baron, Jonathan Tetelman, and Armando Noguera. Ted Huffmann directs the production with Matteo Beltrami conducting.

Performance Dates: Oct. 2-6, 2019

Reinhardt Wagner’s “Poil de carotte” gets a production with Zabou Breitman directing and Victor Jacob conducting. Amélie Tatti, Sylvia Bergé, Bernard Alane, Yoann Le Lan, and Cécile Madelin star.

Performance Dates: Dec. 20, 2019-Jan. 4, 2020

Handel’s “Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” is set to star Dilyara Idrisova, Carole Garcia, Sonja Runje, and James Way. Ted Huffmann directs the production with Nathalie Stutzmann conducting.

Performance Dates: Feb. 10-14, 2020

David Herman directs Verdi’s “Falstaff” with a cast that includes Bruno Taddia, Gezym Myshketa, Alasdair Kent, Katherine Broderick, Kamelia Kader, Julia Muzychenko, and Marie Lenormand.

Performance Dates: March 15-22, 2020

Katherine Broderick, Robert Watson, Karine Deshayes, and Jodie Devos star in Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” with Michel Fau directing and Christian Arming conducting.

Performance Dates: April 24-28, 2020

Marc Mauillon, Judith Chemla, André Morsch, Élodie Méchain, and Vincent Letexier star in Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande.” Kirill Karabits conducts Benjamin Lazar’s production.

Performance Dates: June 3-7, 2020

Jean-François Sivadier’s “Italienne scène et orchestre” gets a production to conclude the season.

Performance Dates: June 11-14, 2020
