Jonathan Tetelman, Davinia Rodríguez & Jack Swanson Lead Regio Opera Festival’s 2021 Season

The Regio Opera Festival has been announced its 2021 season in Torino, Italy.

For the purposes of this article, we will only focus on operatic works.

Mariangela Sicilia, Bogdan Volkov, Marco Filippo Romano, and Giorgio Caoduro star in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore with Matteo Beltrami conducting and Fabio Sparvoli directing. 

Performance Date: June 15-20, 2021

Claudio Fenoglio leads the young chorus on Open Day.

Performance Date: June 19, 2021

The Teatro Regio will present Dolceamaro e la pozione magica” with Giulio Laguzzi at the piano and Anna Maria Bruzzese directing.

Performance Date: June 21, 2021

Andrea Secchi leads the Teatro regio di Torino chorus with pianists Paolo Grosa and Jeong Un Kim. The program will include music by Brahms, Fauré, Tchaikovsky, and Rossini.

Performance Date: June 23, 2021

Rebeka Lokar stars in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” alongside Antonio Poli, Alessio Verna, and Sofia Koberidze. Stefano Ranzani conducts.

Performance Date: July 3-9, 2021

Strehler 100 will feature soloists Margherita Di Rauso and Andrea Jonasson in a program including music by Mozart, Schubert, and Carpi.

Performance Date: July 12, 2021

Pergolesi’s “La serva padrona” will star Marco Filippo Romano, Francesca Di Sauro, and Carmine Borrino. Giulio Laguzzi conducts the production by Mariano Bauduin.

Performance Dates: July 17 & 20, 2021

Francesca Di Sauro, Marco Filippo Romano, and Carmine Borrino star in Telemann’s “Pimpinone ovvero le nozze infelici.” Giulio Laguzzi conducts a production by Mariano Bauduin.

Performance Dates: July 24 & 27, 2021

Juraj Valčuha leads the orchestra and chorus of the Teatro Regio in a program of Glazunov, Khachaturian, Borodin, and Mussorgsky.

Performance Dates: July 30, 2021

Davinia Rodríguez and Jonathan Tetelman star in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci alongside Misha Kiria, Andrea Giovannini, and Alessio Arduini. Stefano Montanari conducts the production by Anna Maria Bruzzese.

Performance Date: August 7-12, 2021

The young chorus performs music by Bizet, Mozart, Offenbach, Puccini, Verdi, Fauré, Vaughan Williams, John Rutter, and Bob Chilcott.

Performance Date: Sept. 10, 2021

Jack Swanson, José Fardilha, Miriam Albano, Andrey Zhilikhovsky, and Marko Mimica star in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia with Nikolas Nägele conducting. 

Performance Date: Sept. 11-18, 2021
