Baritone Jonathan Beyer will headline a recital at 89 Reade on Thursday, Sept. 24, accompanied by pianist Lachlan Glen.

The program spans the Romanticism of Jean Sibelius, the American idiom of George Gershwin, and works by Vincenzo Bellini and Tom Lehrer.

Beyer has performed with companies including the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Opera Frankfurt, appearing across North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe in a repertoire spanning opera, oratorio, musical theater, art song, and jazz, per his artist website. He has also appeared with the Munich Philharmonic and Dallas Opera.

The 89 Reade series has featured such artists as Samantha Hankey, Jasmine Rice LaBeija, Leah Hawkins, Hera Hyesang Park, Gabriella Reyes, and Ben Bliss, among others.
