By Francisco Salazar

Jonas Kaufmann has canceled his concert on Jan. 18, 2020 at the Nürnberg, Meistersingerhalle.

The tenor announced that due to illness he would not be able to perform his concert program “Mein Wien.” The concert was scheduled to feature soprano Johanni van Oostrum, the Prague Philharmonia, and conductor Jochen Rieder.

Ticketholders will be allowed to return their tickets.

Kaufmann is currently touring “Mein Wien” promoting his latest album “Wien,” which features arias and songs from operettas.

The tenor is set to continue the tour in Paris on Jan. 20 and will also bring it to Hamburg, Brussels, Lucerne, and Dusseldorf. He ends the tour in Baden Baden. Later in March Kaufmann will perform in a new production of “Fidelio” at the Royal Opera House alongside Lise Davidsen.
