Jonas Kaufmann, Renée Fleming Headline VOICES Concert Series

By David Salazar

Superstar soprano Renée Fleming has announced the latest season of her “VOICES” concert series, which features vocal performances across a wide range of genres including jazz, opera, pop, and more.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be centered on operatic performances but you don’t want to overlook Alan Cumming and Ari Shapiro presenting “Och & Oy! A Considered Cabaret” on Oct. 15-16 or Oscar nominee Leslie Odom Jr. performing on Nov. 26-27, 2021.

But as far as opera lovers are considered, Jonas Kaufmann will steal the spotlight for a one-night performance with his program yet to be announced.

Performance Date: Oct. 17, 2021

And then it will be all about Renée Fleming herself as she joins forces with the Emerson String Quartet and pianist Simone Dinnerstein for a recital featuring Barber’s String Quartet in B minor, Op. 11, Walton’s String Quartet in A Major, and a new commission by André Previn entitled “Penelope.”

Performance Date: Feb. 28, 2022
