Jonas Kaufmann Out Of Vienna Gala

Jonas Kaufmann is out of the Wiener Staatsoper’s 150th-anniversary concert.

The company announced that “that due to medical reasons he will not be performing the next two weeks. Thus he has canceled his participation in the Jubilee concert of the Wiener Staatsoper on May 26, 2019. In his place, Roberto Alagna will sing the “Juive” -Arie.”

Kaufmann has already canceled half his run in the Opera de Paris’ “Tosca” due to a violent cough. He is due to return to the stage on June 1 for two performances of ‘Tosca” in Paris and will perform at the Teatro alla Scala for a Rolex gala.

The 150th-anniversary concert is set to showcase an array of stars including Sonya Yoncheva, Benjamin Bernheim, Aleksandra Kurzak, Erwin Schrott, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Nina Stemme, and Valentina Naforniţă, among others.
