The Festival Castell de Peralada has confirmed that Jonas Kaufmann and Maria Agresta will perform during the 2020 edition.

The two stars are set to perform a Puccini gala on August 9, 2020 alongside conductor John Rieder and the Orquestra Sinfònica del Vallès.

Kaufmann and Agresta have performed together in multiple productions including “Pagliacci” at the Salzburg Easter Festival and in “Otello” at the Royal Opera House. They have also sung a number of recitals and concerts together.

Kaufmann and Agresta add their names to an already star-studded festival which is set to include William Christie and Les Arts Florissants, Brian Jagde in recital and an “Aida” with Sondra Radvanovsky, Piotr Beczala, Carlos Álvarez, and Anita Rachvelishvili. The Houston Ballet will also performduring the festival.
