Jonas Kaufmann, Lise Davidsen & Camilla Nylund Highlight Wiener Staatsoper Streams

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced streams for the week on its digital platform.

The week begins on Nov. 19 with Berlioz’s “Les Troyens” with Anna Caterina Antonacci, Adam Plachetka, Dominika Kovacs-Galavics, Amadeo D’Aleo, Tâmara Dornelas, Brandon Jovanovich, Rachel Frenkel, Wolfram Igor Derntl, Alexandru Moisiuc, and Peter Kellner from 2018.

That will be followed by a stream of the 1994 performances of Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier” with Carlos Kleiber conducting a cast that includes Felicity Lott, Kurt Moll, Anne Sofie von Otter, Gottfried Hornik, Barbara Bonney, Heinz Zednik,  and Waldemar Kmentt. The stream will be available on Nov. 20.

R. Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” will be streamed on Nov. 21 with a cast that includes Lise Davidsen, Stephen Gould, Rachel Frenkel, Markus Eiche, Peter Matić, Daniel Lökös, and Thomas Ebenstein. The production comes from 2017.

The company will stream Verdi’s “Don Carlos” from a 2020 performance starring Michele Pertusi, Jonas Kaufmann, Igor Golovatenko, Roberto Scandiuzzi, Malin Byström, Eve-Maud Hubeaux, Dan Paul Dumitrescu, Virginie Verrez, Carlos Osuna, Carlos Osuna, Joanna Kedzior, and Katie La Folle. The stream is set for Nov. 22.

On Nov. 23, R. Strauss’ “Elektra” will be shown with a cast that includes Doris Soffel, Ricarda Merbeth, Camilla Nylund, Jörg Schneider, Derek Welton, and Marcus Pelz. The performances comes from 2020.

The final stream of the week will be “Swan Lake” with Olga Esina, Vladimir Shishov, and Eno Peci. The performance is set to be streamed on Nov. 24.
