By Francisco Salazar

The Bayerische Staatsoper will livestream Puccini’s “La Bohème” as part of its MONTAGSSTÜCKE series.

The performance scheduled for Nov. 30 will star Jonas Kaufmann in his Munich role debut as Rodolfo, Rachel Willis-Sørensen as Mimi, Mirjam Mesak as Musetta, Andrei Zhilikhovsky as Marcello, and Sean Michael Plumb as Schaunard. Asher Fisch is set to conduct the production by Otto Schenk.

The production will be free of charge on Nov. 30 and later on-demand on Dec. 3 for 14.90.

The stream comes after streams of “Falstaff” and “The Birds.”

The Bayerische Staatsoper is currently closed to audiences and will remain closed until Dec. 20 due to the spread of COVID-19. Germany has seen a surge in the spread of COVID-19 and the German Minister has noted that the partial lockdown could last until Spring 2021.
