The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced a concert for its September Festival.

The company revealed that for the opening of its new season, it will extend its Opera for All concert beyond the borders of Munich and showcase a concert Ansbach on Sept. 17, 2021.

The company’s new General Musical Director Vladimir Jurowski will lead the Bayerische Staatsorchester with soloists Jonas Kaufmann and Ekaterina Semenchuk. The showcase will include music by Cilea, Wagner, Verdi, Britten, and Shostakovich.

Tickets will be available free of charge on Sept. 4 and since the number of tickets is limited due to the current situation, the concert will also be streamed live on staatsoper.tv.

The Bayerische Staatsoper season is set to open in September with productions of “Gianni Schicchi” and “Il Tabarro” as well as “The Flying Dutchman.”
