The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced that it has cancelled the whole run of Francis Poulenc’s “Dialogues des Carmélites” that was on the schedule for Nov. 14 – Nov. 22, 2020 due to the current COVID-19 situation. The opera was set to star Ermonela Jaho, Adrianne Pieczonka, and Doris Soffel.

Instead, the Bayerische Staatsoper will present the three additional performances of Puccini’s “La bohème,” which will feature an all-star cast, including Rachel Willis-Sørensen, Jonas Kaufmann, Mirjam Mesak and Tareq Nazmi. The run of “La bohème” is thus set to begin on Nov. 22, 2020, and end on Dec. 21, 2020.

Additionally, Diana Damrau and Klaus Florian Vogt will give a concert on Nov. 19, 2020, which will feature works by Richard Strauss.
