The Baden-Baden Festspielhaus has announced its 2023 season which will celebrate its 25th anniversary.

The season opens with Jonas Kaufmann and Ludovic Tézier singing famous duets from operas by Verdi, Puccini and Ponchielli.

Kirill Petrenko conducts the Berliner Philharmoniker in Strauss’ “De Frau ohne Schatten.” Paul Zoller directs a cast that includes Iréne Theorin, Wolfgang Koch, Elza van den Heever, Michaela Schuster, and Clay Hilley.

Diana Damrau joins the Berlin Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko for an all-Strauss program.

Georg Friedrich Händel’s “II Trionfo del Tempo e del Disignanno” will be performed with Emmanuelle Haïm conducting Elsa Benoit, Franco Fagioli, Iestyn Davies, and Anicio Zorzi Giustiniani.
