Jonas Kaufmann, Anna Netrebko, Sonya Yoncheva, Joyce DiDonato Headline Les Grandes Voix’s Star-Studded 2020-21 Season

Les Grandes Voix has announced its 2020-21 season, which is one of the most superstar-laden programs of the year. 

Soprano Sabine Devielhe and pianist Alexandre Tharaud kick off the season in a program of music by Fauré, Debussy, Poulenc, and Ravel.

Performance Dates: Sept. 13 (Wigmore Hall); Sep 19 (Victoria Hall, Geneva); Sept. 30 (Berlin Philharmonie); Nov. 23 (Bordeaux Auditorium) 

Mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet joins forces with La Poème Harmonique under the musical direction of Vincent Dumestre. They will perform music by Lully, Charpentier, Cavalli, and Étienne Moulinié.

Performance Date: Nov. 5, 2020 (Salle Gaveau) 

Superstar soprano Anna Netrebko will join forces with mezzo-soprano Elena Maximova and pianists Malcolm Martineau and violinst Giovanni Andrea Zanon for music by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Fauré, Rachmaninoff, Fauré, Leoncavallo, Debussy, Charpentier, Offenbach, Moore, Strauss, and Bridge at the Philharmonie de Paris.

Performance Date: Nov. 11, 2020 

Countertenor Philippe Jaroussky will perform music of Scarlatti, Caldara, Hasse, Fago, and Chelleri alongside the Ensemble Artaserse at Victoria Hall in Geneva.

Performance Date: Nov. 12, 2020 

Rachel Willison-Sørensen, Karine Deshayes, and Erwin Schrott will join forces for music by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, and Bellini at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.

Performance Date: Nov. 16, 2020

Jonas Kaufmann will perform a Christmas concert at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées alongside the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie under the music direction of Jochen Rieder.

Performance Date: Dec. 6, 2020

Also at the at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées will be countertenor Jakub Jósef Orlinski taking on music by Handel alongside Il Pomo d’Oro.

Performance Date: Dec. 12, 2020 (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées); Dec. 19 (Victoria Hall in Geneva)

Pene Pati will take on music by Verdi, Liszt, Duparc, and Rachmaninoff at the Salle Gaveau alongside pianist Carrie-Ann Matheson.

Performance Date: Dec. 17, 2020 

Soprano Lisette Oropesa and mezzo-soprano Aya Wakizono will join forces with the Orchestra National d’Auvergne for a concert at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. They will perform music by Mozart and Handel.

Performance Dates: Jan. 11, 2021 (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées); Jan. 9, 2021 (Opéra de Vichy)

Lawrence Brownlee and Michael Spyres will perform music by Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Boieldieu, Meyerbeer, Bizet, and Adam. David Stern conducts Opera Fuoco.

Performance Date: Jan. 21, 2021 

Joyce DiDonato will perform her “Songplay” at the Philharmonie de Paris. She will perform music by Caccini, Parisotti, Torelli, Paisiello, Giordani, Marcello, Ellingon, and Rodgers, among many others.

Olga Peretyatko and Karine Deshayes wiol perform music by Rossini, Donizetti, and Bellini under the musical direction of Riccardo Frizza at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.

Performance Date: Feb. 10, 2021 

Benjamin Appl and pianist James Baillieu will perform Scubert’s “Winterreise” at the Salle Gaveau.

Performance Date: March 10, 2021 

Soprano Emöke Baráth and countertenor Carlo Vistoli will take on music by Pergolesi, Scarlatti, and Leo at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées under the direction of Emmanuelle Haïm.

Performance Date: March 17, 2021

Patrizia Ciofi, Lea Desandre, and Anthea Pichanik will take on music by Handel, Broschi, Caldara, and Porpora at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.

Performance Date: April 6, 2021 

Soprano Sonya Yoncehva will take on music by Strozzi, Carissimi, Monteverdi, Sandrin, Caccnini, Legrenzi, Caldara, and Cesti alongside the Lautten Compagney Berlin and conductor Wolfgang Katschner at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.

Performance Date: May 2, 2021

Patricia Petitbon will perform music by Mozart, Fauré, Debussy, Puccini, Poulenc, Piazzolla, Churchill, and Lenon, among others at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées alongside pianist Dimitri Naïditch.

Performance Date: May 9, 2021

Soprano Pretty Yende and tenor Benjamin Bernheim will perform a concert of music by Donizetti, Verdi, and Massenet at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.

Elsa Dreisig performs music of Mozart at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées with the Orchestre de Chambre de Bâle.

Performance Date: June 28, 2021

Alexandre Bloch will conduct a concert version of Offenbach’s “La Belle Hélène at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. The operetta will star Gaëlle Arquez, Cyrille Dubois, Pauline Texier, and Camille Poul, among others.
