Jonas Kaufmann, Anna Netrebko, Elīna Garanča, & Pretty Yende Lead Opéra de Paris’s 2020-21 Cinema Season

FRA Cinema has announced the 2020-21 cinema season for the Opéra de Paris.
The season will include previously recorded performances and live performances.
The season begins with Massenet’s “Manon” starring Pretty Yende and Benjamin Bernheim. The production, which was the final production of the 2019-20 season at the Opéra de Paris also stars Ludovic Tézier and Roberto Tagliavini and is conducted by Dan Ettinger.
Cinema Date: Sept. 10, 2020
Cecilia Bartoli, Ildar Abdrazakov, Edgardo Rocha, and Alessandro Corbelli star in Rossini’s “L’Italiana in Algeri” from a 2018 production at the Salzburg Festival.
Cinema Date: Oct. 15, 2020
Anna Netrebko stars in Puccini’s “Tosca” from a 2019 production at the Teatro alla Scala. She is joined by Francesco Meli and Luca Salsi with Riccardo Chailly conducting the production that opened the 2019-20 season.

Philippe Jaroussky, Patricia Petibon, and Emőke Baráth star in Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice.” The production by Robert Carsen comes from the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées with Diego Fasolis conducting.
Cinema Date: Jan. 21, 2021
Jonas Kaufmann, Sondra Radvanovsky, and Elīna Garanča star in Verdi’s “Aida” live from the Opéra Bastille. The production also stars Dmitry Belosselskiy, Ludovic Tézier, and Gabriella Reyes. Michele Mariotti conducts.
Cinema Date: Feb. 18, 2021
Benjamin Bernheim, Ildar Abdrazakov, Florian Sempey, Ermonela Jaho, and Michèle Losier star in Gounod’s “Faust” with Lorenzo Viotti conducting. The production will be recorded live from the Opéra Bastille.
Cinema Date: March 25, 2021
Daniel Barenboim conducts “The Queen of Spades” from the Palais Garnier. The cast includes Brandon Jovanovich, Asmik Grigorian, John Lundgren, Étienne Dupuis, Alexey Dolgov, Violeta Urmana, and Clémentine Margaine.
