John Holiday, Morris Robinson, Leah Crocetto, Jamie Barton Headline The Dallas Opera’s Live Song Series

The Dallas Opera has announced live performances starting on March 31, 2021.

The company will reopen with a song series featuring four major opera stars performing to socially distanced audiences.

The “Welcome Back” Song Series will kick off with a performance featuring Morris Robinson as he takes on music by Verdi, Bernstein, Margaret Bonds, Mozart, and Hugo Wolf. He will be accompanied by Caren Levine.

Performance Date: March 31, 2021

Next up will be a showcase featuring Jamie Barton and Leah Crocetto as they take on music from the American Songbook by such composers as Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, George Gershwin, Jason Robert Brown, and more. They will be accompanied by Mark Markham.

Performance Date: April 3, 2021

Countertenor John Holiday concludes the series with a recital featuring music by Stevie Wonder, George Gershwin, Thelonious Monk, Fats Waller, and Beethoven. Kevin J. Miller and Neeki Bey will accompany Holiday.

Performance Date: April 9, 2021
