John Holiday, John Riesen & Katie Van Kooten Headline Utah Opera’s 2021-22 Season

The Utah Opera has announced its 2021-22 season featuring four staged productions with live audiences. Here is a rundown of what the company will have on offer next season.

Michael Adams stars in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville alongside Sarah Coit, Matthew Grills, and Matthew Burns. Gary Thor Wedow conducts Michael Shell’s production.

Performance Dates: Oct. 9-17, 2021

John Holiday, Abigail Rethwisch, Daniel O’Hearn, Julia Gershkoff, Edith Grossman, and Seth Keeton headline Jonathan Dove’s “Flight.” Robert Tweten conducts Kristine McIntyre’s production.

Performance Dates: Jan 15-23, 2022

Steven White conducts Omer Ben Seadia’s production of Puccini’s Tosca with Katie Van Kooten in the title role, Dimitri Pittas as Cavaradossi, and Stephen Powell as Scarpia.

Performance Dates: March 12-20, 2022

Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance” ends the season with a cast that includes Curt Olds, Craig Irvin, John Riesen, Leia Lensing, Madison Leonard, Edith Grossman, and Julia Gershkoff. Gary Thor Wedow conducts Kyle Lang’s production.

Performance Dates: May 7-15, 2022
