
John Brancy, Leonardo Sánchez, Jasmine Habersham, Christine Rice & Wendy Bryn Harmer Lead Opera North’s 2026-27 Season

The season opens with Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” featuring John Brancy, Verity Wingate, Caspar Singh, Jingwen Cai, Hannah Mason, Claire Pascoe, and Joshua Bloom. Garry Walker conducts the production by Patrick Nolan.
Performance Dates: Oct. 9–Nov. 21, 2026
Leonardo Sánchez, Blake Denson and Jasmine Habersham lead Verdi’s “Rigoletto.” The cast also includes Callum Thorpe and Sir Willard White. Patrick Lange conducts the production by Femi Elufowoju Jr.
Performance Dates: Oct. 18–Nov. 20, 2026
Will Todd and David Simpatico’s “A Christmas Carol” will be conducted by Garry Walker and directed by PJ Harris.
Performance Dates: Dec. 18–24, 2026
Mark Stone sings the title role in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” with David Ireland, Sara Cortolezzis, Alexandra Lowe, Anthony Gregory, Claire Lees, Thomas Chenhall, and Blaise Malaba. Chloe Rooke conducts the production by Alessandro Talevi.
Performance Dates: Feb. 5-April 3, 2027
Christine Rice, Johannes Moore, and Kate Royal lead Jake Heggie and Terrence McNally’s “Dead Man Walking.” Ben Glassberg conducts the production by Annilese Miskimmon.
Performance Dates: Feb. 19-March 20, 2027
Jasdeep Singh Degun and Ashok Gupta conducts Monteverdi and Jasdeep Singh Degun’s “Orpheus.”
Performance Dates: April 9-25, 2027
John Matthew Myers and Wendy Bryn Harmer lead Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” with Karl Huml. Antony Hermus conducts the production by Peter Mumford.
