The Handel and Haydn Society has announced its 2019-20 season, which will include a few vocal performances.

In its 205th season, the organization will continue its mission to bring “Classical and Baroque music to life on period instruments in historically informed performances, showcasing the music the way the composer intended.” H+H will perform works of Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven, as well as Handel’s “Messiah,” “A Baroque Christmas,” Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion,” and Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.”

The season will kick off with “A Mozart Celebration” at Boston’s Symphony Hall on Oct. 4 and 6, 2019. Harry Christophers will conduct the H+H Orchestra and Chorus in performances of “Eine kleine Nachtmusik,” and “Mass in C Minor, K. 427,” as well as concert arias “Nehmt meinen Dank, ihr holden Gönner!” and “Ah, lo previdi!”–”Ah, t’invola”– “Deh, non varcar.” Featured vocalists will include sopranos Joélle Harvey and Caitlin Lynch, tenor Aaron Sheehan, and bass-baritone Peter Walker.

From Nov. 29 – Dec. 1, 2019, Masaaki Suzuki will conduct the H+H Orchestra and Chorus in the holiday tradition of Handel’s “Messiah” at Symphony Hall, featuring soprano Elizabeth Watts, countertenor Reginald Mobley, tenor Nicholas Phan, and bass-baritone Dashon Burton.

Performances of “Mozart + Haydn” will take place at Symphony Hall on Jan. 24 and 26, 2020. Christophers will conduct the H+H Orchestra and Chorus alongside vocalists including soprano Mireille Asselin, mezzo-soprano Catherine Wyn-Rogers, tenor Jeremy Budd, and baritone Sumner Thompson.

Finally, Christophers will lead the H+H Orchestra and Chorus in Bach’s “St. Matthew’s Passion,” which will include solos by tenor Joshua Ellicot, bass-baritone Matthew Brook, soprano Joélle Harvey, mezzo-soprano Paula Murrihy, and bass-baritone Stephan MacLeod.
