Joélle Harvey, Hilary Cronin, Christopher Lowrey, Robert Murray, Roderick Williams & Reginald Mobley Lead Handel and Haydn Society’s 2026-27 Season

The Handel and Haydn Society (H + H) has announced its 2026-27 season. Here are the vocal performances:

Artistic Director Jonathan Cohen conducts Händel’s “L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato” with the H+H Orchestra and Chorus. The cast includes soprano Joélle Harvey. Massachusetts Poet Laureate Regie Gibson joins as speaker.

Performance Dates: Oct. 2 & 4, 2026


Conductor Laureate Harry Christophers leads the Society’s 173rd consecutive performances of Händel’s “Messiah” with the H+H Orchestra and Chorus. Guest soloists include soprano Hilary Cronin, countertenor Christopher Lowrey, tenor Robert Murray, and baritone Roderick Williams.

Performance Dates: Nov. 27 – 29, 2026


Jonathan Cohen conducts H+H’s Baroque Christmas concerts, centered on Schütz’s “Die Weihnachtshistorie” in its H+H premiere, alongside seasonal motets and suites by Vierdanck, Praetorius, and Schein.

Performance Dates: Dec. 17 & 20, 2026


Cohen conducts the world premiere of Damien Geter’s “Kiss and Tell,” a myth-inspired cantata with libretto by Tsitsi Jaji, headlined by countertenor Reginald Mobley. The work is a co-commission with Cleveland’s Les Délices.

Performance Dates: Jan. 29 & 30, 2027


Cohen leads Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” with the H+H Orchestra and Chorus, H+H Youth Choruses Chamber Choir, guest soloists, and members of choral ensembles from across Massachusetts as part of the third annual H+H CitySing.

Performance Dates: May 1 & 2, 2027
