Jodie Devos, Gaëlle Arquez & John Osborn Headline Opéra Comique’s 2020 Season

The season with Christian Boltanski, Jean Kalman, and Franck Krawczyk’s “Fosse.” The piece is set to star soprano Karen Vourc’h and cellist Sonia Wieder-Atherton.
Peformance Dates: Jan. 10-11, 2020
François-Adrien Boieldie’s “La Dame Blanche” will be performed in a production by Pauline Bureau. Conducted by Julien Leroy, the work will star Philippe Talbot, Anna Elsa Benoit, Sophie Marin-Degor, Jérôme Boutillier, Aude Extrémo, Yann Beuron, and Yoann Dubruque.
Performance Dates: Feb. 20-March 1, 2020
Pascal Dusapin’s “Macbeth Underworld” is set to have its Paris premiere with a cast featuring Katarina Bradic, Georg Nigl, Ekaterina Lekhina, Lilly Jørstad, Christel Loetzsch, Gidon Saks, Graham Clark, and Christian Rivet. The opera will be conducted by Franck Ollu with a production by Thomas Jolly, who also directed the world premiere at La Monnaie.

Alexandra Cravero conducts Laurent Pelly’s new production of Offenbach’s “Le voyage dans la Lune,” celebrating the composer’s 200th anniversary.

Marc Minkowski and Thibault Noally conduct Molière / Jean-Baptiste Lully’s “Le Bourgeois gentilhomme.” the production by Jérôme Deschamps is set to star Flore Babled, Jean-Claude Bolle Reddat, Sébastien Boudrot, Vincent Debost, Jérôme Deschamps, Pauline Deshons, Aurélien Gabrielli, Guillaume Laloux, Josiane Stoleru, and Pauline Tricot.
Performance Dates: June 15-21, 2020
Gaëlle Arquez takes on the title role of Bizet’s “Carmen” with John Osborn, Nathalie Manfrino, and Jean-François Lapointe. The French opera will be conducted by Long Yu in a production by Andreas Homoki.

Jean-Philippe Rameau’s “Hippolyte et Aricie” stars Reinoud van Mechelen, Elsa Benoit, Sylvie Brunet-Grupposo, Stéphane Degout, Séraphine Cotrez, Nahuel di Pierro, Eugénie Lefebvre, Chasseresse, Lea Desandre, Edwin Fardini, Constantin Goubet, Olivier Coiffet, and Virgile Ancely. Raphaël Pichon conducts Jeanne Candel’s production.
Performance Dates: Nov. 12-22, 2020
Marianne Crebassa, Jodie Devos, Franck Leguérinel, Jean-Sébastien Bou, François Rougier, Anna Reinhold, Philippe Estèphe, and Bruno Bayeux star in Offenbach’s “Fantasio.” The production by Thomas Jolly will be conducted by Laurent Campellone.
