The Anna H. Wang Concert Series will open its 2026-27 season with a performance featuring the Sphinx Virtuosi and mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges.

The showcase, set for Oct. 24, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Takoma Park Seventh Day Adventist Church in Takoma Park, Maryland, marks the 30th anniversary season of the Sphinx Organization.

Bridges, a two-time Grammy Award winner who has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, Seattle Opera, and the Wiener Staatsoper, among other companies, will headline “Declaration,” a new song cycle composed by Damien Geter and written by Sphinx Organization founder Aaron Dworkin. The program also features works by Rachel McFarlane, Roberto Sierra, Jessie Montgomery, Ravel, and Stravinsky.

Geter will lead a pre concert talk at 6 p.m. ahead of the performance.

The concert is presented in partnership with the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts.
