J’Nai Bridges, Dawn Upshaw, Sasha Cooke, Benjamin Appl Headline San Francisco Performances’ 2022-23 Season

San Francisco Performances has announced its 2022-23 season.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal and operatic performances.

Soprano Dawn Upshaw will join forces with the Brentano String Quartet for “Dido “Reimagined” by Melinda Wagner.

Performance Dates: Jan. 12, 2023

Mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke and guitarist Jason Vieaux will perform music by Schubert, de Falla, Britten, Lennon-McCartney, and others.

Performance Dates: April 8, 2023

Trio Mediaeval will perform “Lumen de Lumine” at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Performance Dates: April 20, 2023

Mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges and percussionist Ulysses Owens Jr. will join forces for “Notes of Hope,” a program of music by Debussy, Ravel, Duparc, Satie, Poulenc, Ellington, and traditional spirituals.

Performance Dates: April 28, 2023

Baritone Benjamin Appl will present a program of songs and lieder by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, and Vaughan Williams, among others.

Performance Dates: May 10, 2023
