J’Nai Bridges, Ailyn Pérez, Russell Thomas & Luca Pisaroni Lead Houston Grand Opera’s 2023-24 Season

The Houston Grand Opera has announced its 2023-24 season, which will feature a world premiere.

Jamie Barton, Janai Brugger, J‘Nai Bridges, Caitlin Lynch, Nicholas Newton, Michael Mayes, and Joshua Blue star in Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s “Intelligence.” Kwamé Ryan conducts the production by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar.

Performance Dates: Oct. 20-Nov. 3, 2024

Reginald Smith, Jr. sings the title role of Vedi’s “Falstaff” with Nicole Heaston, Blake Denson, Jennifer Johnson Cano, Andrea Carroll, Jack Swanson, and Emily Treigle. Patrick Summers conducts Paula Suozzi’s production.

Performance Dates: Oct. 27-Nov. 10, 2023

Russell Thomas sings the title role of Wagner’s “Parsifal” alongside Christine Goerke, Kwangchul Youn, Ryan McKinny, Andrea Silvestrelli, and André Courville. Eun Sun Kim conducts the production by John Caird.

Performance Dates: Jan. 19-Feb. 4, 2024

Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” will star Ailyn Pérez, Raquel González, Yongzhao Yu, Eric Taylor, Michael Samuel, Navasard Hakobyan, Sun-Ly Pierce, and Emily Treigle. Patrick Summers conducts Michael Grandage’s production.

Performance Dates: Jan. 26-Feb, 11, 2024

Luca Pisaroni sings the title role of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” with Ryan McKinny, Andriana Chuchman, Kang Wang, Sasha Cooke, Erika Baikoff, and Patrick Guetti. Dame Jane Glover conducts.

Performance Dates: April 19-May 3, 2024

Isabel Leonard and Alexander Birch Elliott star in “The Sound of Music” with Katie Van Kooten, Tori Tedeschi Adams, Daniel Belcher, Megan Marino, and Renée Richardson. Richard Bado conducts the production by Francesca Zambello.

Performance Dates: April 26-May 12, 2024
