Jessica Pratt, Leah Crocetto & Yonghoon Lee Highlight Opera Australia’s Winter Season

The season opens with Verdi’s “Aida“ directed by Dave Livermore and conducted by Lorenzo Passerini and Tahu Matheson. The production stars Leah Crocetto in the title role; Elena Gabouri as Amneris; Stefano La Colla and Najmiddin Mavlyanov sharing the role of Radamès; and Warwick Fyfe and Michael Honeyman as Amonasro.
Performance Dates: June 22-August 13, 2021
Davide Livermore directs Verdi’s “Attila“ conducted by Renato Palumbo. The work star Alexander Vinogradov in the title role, Natalie Aroyan reprising her role as Odabella, Diego Torre as Foresto, and Marco Vratogna as Ezio.
Performance Dates: June 29-July 10, 2021
Yonghoon Lee sings the title role in Verdi’s “Otello“ alongside the Karah Son making her debut as Desdemona and Marco Vratogna as Iago. Andrea Battistoni conducts. Harry Kupfer directs.
Performance Dates: July 16-29, 2021
Offenbach’s “The Tales of Hoffmann” is set to be conducted by Carlo Montanaro and directed by Damiano Michieletto. The cast includes Jessica Pratt portraying all four leading roles Olympia, Antonia, Giulietta, and Stella and Jean François-Borras in the title role. Marko Mimica rounds out the cast as the four villains.
