Jennifer Rowley, Othalie Graham Among Stars of Toledo Opera’s 2019-20 Season

The Toledo Opera has announced its new season, which will consist of three operas.

First up will be Verdi’s “Macbeth,” which will open the season at the Valentine Theatre. The work is set to feature Othalie Graham as Lady Macbeth and Mark Rucker in the title role,  with James Meena conducting and Ivan Stefanutti directing.

Performance Dates: Oct. 4, 6, 2019 

The season will also feature a gala performance starring Jennifer Rowley, who performed with the company in “Vanessa” back in 2017.

Performance Date: Oct. 26, 2019

Zach Borichevsky will star as Rodolfo in Puccini’s “La Bohème,” with the Mimì casting to be determined. Alicia Russell will star as Musetta. Jeffrey Buchman will direct the production.

Performance Dates: Feb. 7, 9, 2020 

Derrick Wang’s “Scalia / Ginsburg” and Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Trial By Jury” will also receive showcases to close out the company’s season.

Performance Dates: April 17, 19, 2020 

The company is also set to continue its Opera on Wheels initiative with “Hansel and Gretel vs. the Witch.”
