This weekend is all about the repertory staples and intriguing casts that currently performing them. Here is a look at what we think you need to see.

Un Ballo in Maschera- Narodni Diavdlo, Czech Republic

Jennifer Rowley continues her run of Verdi’s middle period masterpiece. She sings the role of Amelia with Michal Lehotský, Svatopluk Sem, Marie Fajtová, and Jana Sýkorová. Jaroslav Kyzlink conducts the opera.

Tristan und Isolde – Royal Danish Opera, Denmark

Any presentation of Wagner’s work is always a special treat. Ann Petersen and Christopher Ventris star in the title roles with Kyungil Ko as Kind Marke, Hanne Fischer as Brangäne, and Egils Silins as Kurwenal.

Lothar Koenigs conducts Natascha Metherell’s production.

Tosca – Semperoper Dresden

Kristine Opolais makes her Dresden debut in one of her signature roles. She sings the role alongside Riccardo Massi as Cavaradossi and Andrzej Dobber as Scarpia. They are joined by Antonino Fogliani in the pit.

Samson et Dalila, Deutsche Oper am Rhien, Germany

Axel Kober conducts a new production of Saint-Saens tale by Joan Anton Rechi. The cast includes rising star Ramona Zaharia as Dalila, Michael Weinius as Samson, and Simon Neal as the High Priest.

Fidelio – Teatro Cervantes de Malaga, Spain

Berna Perles leads Beethoven’s only opera with a cast that also includes Cesar Gutierrez, Tijl Faveyts, Beatriz Diaz, Pablo Garcia Lopez, Luis Lopez, and Jose Antonio Lopez. Manuel Hernandez Silva conducts the production by Jose Carlos Plaza.

L’Elisir d’Amore – Teatro Real, Spain

Two casts lead Donizetti’s comic gem. The first one is lead by Brenda Rae, Rame Lahaj, Alessandro Luongo and Erwin Schrott. Then Sabina Puértolas leads the cast with Juan Francisco Gatell, Borja Quiza, and Adrian Sâmpetrean. Recent Operalia winner Adriana González sings in both casts.
