Jennifer Rowley, Kathryn Lewek & Allen Michael Jones Lead Toledo Opera’s 2021-22 Season

Ohio’s Toledo Opera has announced its 2021-22 season featuring three productions.

The season opens with Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” with Jennifer Rowley as Leonora and Carl Tanner as Manrico. The cast is rounded out by Deborah Nansteel as Azucena and Kyle Pfortmiller as Count di Luna. Adam Turner conducts the production by Jeffrey Buchman.

Performance Dates: Oct. 8 & 10, 2021

Jeanine Tesori and Tazewell Thompson’s “Blue” will be performed starring Krysty Swann, Allen Michael Jones, Darius Gillard, and Gordon Hawkins. Chelsea Tipton, II conducts the production by Thomspon.

Performance Dates: Feb. 11 & 13, 2022

The season closes with Verdi’s “La Traviata” starring Kathryn Lewek in the title role, Zach Borichevsky as Alfredo Germont, and Malcolm MacKenzie as Giorgio Germont. Marc Verzatt directs and Joseph Colaneri conducts.
