Opera Italiana is in the Air has announced that it will present “REBIRTH!” on June 28, 2021.

The showcase is set to take place at the Naumburg Bandshell in New York’s Central Park and will feature musicians from The Metropolitan Opera, the New York Philharmonic, The Juilliard School, The New School, and The Manhattan School of Music. Among the major performers involved are Jennifer Rowley, Gabriella Reyes, and Stephen Costello.

The showcase will be presented in tribute to Enrico Caruso to honor the 100^th anniversary of his death. Performers will present music by Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, and Rossini. There will also be a performance by 17-year-old composer Mondriana Villegas.

The organization will be partnering with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to present the Rising Voices Choir, which will sing the national anthem. The performance will be streamed to the Music Therapy department patients and all patients and staff of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

We hope staff and patients will find great joy in watching this incredible evening of music, art, and culture in the heart of New York City,” said Karen Popkin, Program Coordinator, Creative Arts and Movement Therapies at Memorial Sloan Kettering, in a press release.
