Jennifer Johnston & Roderick Williams Lead Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2020 Fall Performances

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic has announced a series of October and November performances. Fourteen socially-distanced concerts will take place from Oct. 1 to Nov.  4, 2020.

For the purpose of this article, we will focus only on vocal works.

Baritone Roderick Williams will perform a program that includes works by Finzi, Ireland, Britten, Venables, Weir, and Bax. Christopher Glynn will be at the piano.

Performance date: Oct. 12, 2020

Mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnston will perform a program that features Britten’s “Phaedra,” a dramatic cantata for mezzo-soprano and small orchestra, Tabakova’s “Fantasy Homage to Schubert,” and the world premiere of Kontou’s ” Antigone: Pure in her Crime.”

Geoffrey Paterson will conduct musicians from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Performance date: Oct. 22, 2020
