Jeni Houser, Maria Brea, Vanessa Becerra, Kristen Choi, Maria Valdes Headline Phoenix Symphony Orchestra’s 2023-24 Season

The Phoenix Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2023-24 season. Here is a look at the vocal performances on offer.

The season opens with “Carmina Burana” conducted by Tito Muñoz. The soloists include Jeni Houser, Arnold Livingston Geis, and Michael Adams. The program also includes Adam Schoenberg’s “Picture Studies.”

Performance Dates: Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2023

Tito Muñoz leads Händel’s “Mesias,” a Spanish version of his famed oratorio with such soloists as Maria Brea, Dane Suarez, Phillip Lopez, and Stephanie Sanchez.

Performance Dates: Dec. 9, 2023

 Tito Muñoz leads a performance of Händel’s “Messiah” with such soloists as Vanessa Becerra, Kristen Choi, Brian Vu, and Anthony Robin Schneider.

Performance Dates: Dec. 14 – 17, 2023

Soprano Maria Valdes headlines a program featuring Strauss’ “Four Last Songs.” There will also be music by Beethoven and Christopher Cerrone. Tito Muñoz conducts.

Performance Dates: March 22 – 24, 2024

Tito Muñoz leads Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” with such soloists as Katherine Whyte and Megan Esther Grey.

Performance Dates: May 10 – 12, 2024
