La Monnaie/De Munt has announced its 2026-27 season.

Opera

Jeanine de Bique, Kseniia Proshina, Ismael Jordi and Airam Hernandez star in Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette” with Florence Losseau, Travon D. Walker, and Maxim Kuzmin-Karavaev. Valentina Peleggi conducts the production by Julia Burbach.

Performance Dates: Sept. 29-Oct. 17,, 2026


Alain Altinoglu conducts Berg’s “Wozzeck” in a production by Christophe Coppens. Scott Hendricks, Jennifer Holloway, Matthias Wohlbrecht, and Magnus Piontek.

Performance Dates: Nov. 8-22, 2026


Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” will be conducted by Speranza Scappucci and Stefano Sarzani and will star Josh Lovell, Cesar Cortes, Sean Michael Plumb, Andres Cascante, Pietro Spagnoli, Patrick Carfizzi, Gaëlle Arquez, Michael Mofidian, and Peter Martinčič. Daniel Kramer directs.

Performance Dates: Dec. 15-31, 2026


Laura Kaminsky’s “Lucidity” will be conducted by Patrick Letermed and will be directed by Mathilda du Tillieul McNicol. The cast will include Susan Bullock, Florence Losseau, Marco Jacquart, and Sakhiwe Mkosana.

Performance Dates: Jan. 22-26, 2027


Jacquelyn Wagner, Alina Wunderlind, Magnus Vigilius, Paula Murrihy, and Jochen Schmeckenbecher star in Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” with Ariane Matiakh conducting and Mariusz Treliński directing.

Performance Dates: Jan. 24-Feb. 9, 2027


Alevtina Ioffe conducts “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci.” The production will star Clémentine Margaine, Sofija Petrovic, Niamh O’Sullivan, Gaston Rivero, Rafael Davila, Elena Zaremba, and Łukasz Goliński in the Mascagni while Adriana Gonzalez, Martin Muehle, Suja Go, Diego Torre, Andrei Kymach, Theo Magongoma, and Mikhail Timoshenko star in the Leoncavallo.

Performance Dates: March 14-31, 2027


Huang Ruo’s “M. Butterfly” will be conducted by Carolyn Kuan. Krystian Lada conducts the production which will star Kangmin Justin Kim, Robin Adams, Kelsey Lauritano, Douglas Ray Williams and Seiyoung Kim.

Performance Dates: April 20-May 4, 2027


“Burmese Days” by Sarah Howe and Prach Boondiskulchok will have its world premiere.

Performance Dates: June 6-11, 2027


Musorgsky’s “Boris Godunov” will be directed by Vasily Barkhatov and conducted by Alain Altinoglu and Dmitry Matvienko. The cast will include Dmitry Ulyanov, Iurii Iushkevich, Vlada Koieva, Sergey Polyakova, Alik Abdukayumov, and Ante Jerkunica.

Alain Altinoglu and the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra will lead the Queen Elizabeth Competition.

Marina Viotti sings opera arias from “Carmen” and “Samson et Dalida,” songs by Maurice Ravel and Erik Satie, as well as chansons by Jacques Brel and a dash of Buena Vista Social Club. She will be joined by Todd Camburn, Antoine Brochot, and Gerry Lopez.
