The Orchestre Classique de Montréal is set to present “French Impressions” on Nov. 20, 2024.

The program features Fauré’s “Pavane” and selected songs; Brott’s “Lament;” Ravel’s “Petite Symphonie à cordes” and “Chansons de Don Quichotteà Dulcinée;” and Roussel’s “Sinfoniette” op. 52. Baritone Jean-François Lapointe, who is also the Opéra de Québec artistic director, is the featured soloist. The performance will be conducted by Andrei Feher.

“It gives me great pleasure to conduct a French program with the OCM. The color palette of French music has always inspired me, with its many styles of playing and atmospheres. We’re lucky to have Jean-Francois Lapointe singing Ravel and Fauré. We also pay tribute to Alexander Brott with ‘Lament’ for strings. So, a concert rich in the French colors I’ve always loved,” said Feher in an official press release.

The performance kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time at Pierre-Mercure Hall.
