Javier Camarena, Carmela Remigio & Sara Blanch Headline Donizetti Opera’s 2021 Season

The Donizetti Opera Festival has announced the 2021 season.

The season opens with “C’erano una volta due bergamaschi” an operashow led Alex Esposito and Artisti della Bottega Donizetti. Michele D’Elia performs at piano.

Performance Date: Nov. 18, 2021

Riccardo Frizza conducts a new production of “L’Elisir d’Amore” directed by Frederic Wake-Walker. The critical edition stars Caterina Sala, Javier Camarena, Florian Sempey, and Roberto Frontali.

Performance Dates: Nov. 19-Dec. 5, 2021

Mayr’s “Medea in Corinto” will celebrate its 200th anniversary with a cast that includes Roberto Lorenzi, Michele Angelini, Carmela Remigio, Antonino Siragusa, Marta Torbidoni, Caterina Di Tonno, and Marcello Nardis. Jonathan Brandani conducts a new production by Francesco Micheli

Sara Blanch, John Osborn, Paolo Bordogna, and Cristina Bugatty star in Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment” in a production by Ernesto Doñas. Michele Spotti conducts.
