
Jade Etienne, Amber Mayberry & Ángel Gil-Ordóñez Lead PostClassical Ensemble’s ‘Orpheus: The Magic of the Arts’
By David SalazarPostClassical Ensemble will present “Orpheus: The Magic of the Arts” on My 26, 2026 at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, DC.
The multimedia concert, which explores the myth of Orpheus across music, dance, and visual arts, will be led by Music Director Ángel Gil-Ordóñez alongside guest curator Dr. Dorothy Kosinski, Director Emerita of The Phillips Collection.
Soprano Jade Etienne and choreographer Amber Mayberry join as special guests, with pianist Audrey Andrist and dancer Michael Burgos also featured. The program includes narration, commentary from the stage, and visual projections integrated with the music.
The concert features works by Gluck, Offenbach, Beethoven, Wagner, Mahler, Philip Glass, and Stravinsky.
The concert is presented in partnership with the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center and The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. A post-concert discussion will follow with performers from the Peabody Institute and experts from the Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.
