Conductor Jaap van Zweden will return to the Royal Concertgebouw in the famed NTR Saturday series to conduct Beethoven’s only opera “Fidelio.”

Van Zweden, who turns 60 on Dec. 12, will lead the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Dutch Radio Choir in the presentation of Beethoven’s operatic masterwork. The concert version will star Anja Kampe as Leonore, Daniel Frank as Don Florestan, Georg Zeppenfeld as Rocco, Simon Neal as Don Pizzaro, Oliver Zwarg as Don Fernando, Mercedes Arcuri in the role of Marzelline, and Thomas Atkins as Jaquino.

The broadcast of this concert can be listened to on NPO Radio at 2.15 p.m. CET on Saturday Dec. 12, 2020 and will also be available via NPO start at 9:30 p.m. CET on Sunday, Dec. 13 2020.
