Iván Ayón Rivas, Maria Josè Siri, Erika Grimaldi, Piero Pretti & Olga Peretyatko Lead Teatro Carlo Felice’s 2024-25 Season

Genova’s Teatro Carlo Felice has announced its 2024-25 season. Here is a look at the operas and concerts.

Opera

The season will open with a double bill featuring the play “Giro di vite” by Henry James and Benjamin Britten’s “The Turn of the Screw.”  Davide Livermore directs the production with Riccardo Minasi at the podium. The cast for Britten will see Valentino Buzza, Karen Gardeazabal, Oliver Barlow, Lucy Barlow, Polly Leech, and Marianna Mappa.

Performance Dates: Oct 12-20, 2024

The season continues with Doniztti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” starring Nina Minasyan, Iván Ayón Rivas, Luca Tittoto, and Franco Vassallo. Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts the production by Lorenzo Mariani.

Performance Dates: Nov. 15-24, 2024

Giampaolo Bisanti conducts Ninio Rota’s “Il cappello di Paglia di Firenze” in a production by Damiano Michieletto. The opera will feature Marco Ciaponi, Nicola Ulivieri, Paolo Bordogna, Didier Pieri, David Ferri Durà, Elena Benedetta Torre, Giulia Bolcato, Marika Colasanto, and Sonia Ganassi.

Performance Dates: Dec. 13-17, 2024

Olga Peretyatko and Elena Schirru star in Verdi’s La Traviata with Francesco Meli, Klodjan Kaçani, Roberto Frontali, and Leon Kim. Renato Palumbo conducts the production by Giorgio Gallione.

Performance Dates: Jan. 12-19 2025

Donato Renzetti conducts Girodano’s “Andrea Chénier” with Fabio Sartori, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Stefano Meo, and Maria Josè Siri leading the cast. The production is by Pier Francesco Maestrini.

Performance Dates: Feb. 6-15, 2025

Ambrogio Maestri, Ernesto Petti, Galeano Salas, Erika Grimaldi, Caterina Sala, and Sara Mingardo star in Verdi’s “Falstaff.” Riccardo Minasi conducts the production by Damiano Michieletto.

Performance Dates: March 7-13, 2025

Strauss’ “Die Liebe der Danae” will be conducted by Fabio Luisi and directed by Laurence Dale. The production will showcase Scott Hendricks,  Timothy Oliver, Tuomas Katajala, Angela Meade, Valentina Farcas, John Matthew Myers, Albert Memeti, Eamonn Mulhall, Nicolas Legoux, Giovanni Battista Parodi, Anna Graf, Agnieszka Adamczak, Hagar Sharvit, and Valentina Stadler as the vocal soloists.

Performance Dates: April 6-16, 2025

Piero Pretti, Amadi Lagha, Luca Tittoto, Abramo Rosalen, Annalisa Stroppa, Caterina Piva, Giuliana Gianfaldoni, and Angela Nisi lead Bizet’s “Carmen.” Donato Renzetti conducts Emilio Sagi’s production.

Performance Dates: May 16-25, 2025

The season concludes with Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” conducted by Giancarlo Andretta and directed by Daniele Abbado. The production will star soloists from the Accademia of the Carlo Felice.

Performance Dates: June 13-22, 2025

Concert 

The season opens with Riccardo Minasi conducting Beethoven and Haydn with soloists Benedetta Torre, Laura Verrecchia, Matteo Falcier, and Alessandro Luongo.

Claudio Marino Moretti conducts Brahms’ Deutsche Requiem.

Performance Date: Nov. 27, 2024

Donato Renzetti conducts Arnold Schönberg and Rimsky-Korsakov’s music alongside soprano Francesca Paola Geretto.

Performance Date: Feb. 8, 2025

Leonhard Garms conducts music by Francesco Filidei and Mahler. Mezzo-soprano Hagar Sharvit is the soloist.

Performance Date: April 11, 2025
