Italian President to Attend ‘Il Trovatore’ at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s Summer Season

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has announced that presdient Sergio Mattarella will assist the opening performance of Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” on June 15.

The performance will mark the opening night of Roma’s summer season and will be conducted by Daniele Gatti and directed by Lorenzo Mariani.

Mattarella will be greeted by the mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, and the Opera House’s superintendent, Carlo Fuortes.

Other important guests will include Silvana Sciarra, Interior minister Luciana Lamorgese, The President of the Regione Lazio Nicola Zingaretti, the French Ambassador S.E. Christian Masset, the German Ambassador S.E. Viktor Elbling, and the Spanish Ambassador Alfonso Dastis, among others.

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s summer season will run from August 5.
