By Francisco Salazar

The Israeli Opera has named Tali Barash Gottlieb as the new Executive Director of Israeli Opera.

She will succeed Zach Granit, who will stay with the company as Artistic Director.

Gottlieb was previously the Executive Director of the Israel Philharmonic Foundation where she created a strong and influential global network of support for the IPO.

In a statement via Linkedin, she said, “Excited to embark on a new journey as the newly appointed Executive Director of The Israeli Opera and strongly believe in its unique contribution to Israeli culture. In these difficult times, culture takes on special meaning as a stable source of inspiration, inner peace, solace, and force. I look forward to leading the organization, together with its Artistic Director Zach Granit to continued growth and heights of excellence, to bring its magic to new audiences, including to communities in the North and South of Israel, and to evoke the curiosity of younger audiences to this art form.”

This season the Israeli Opera is set to present multiple classic works including “L’elisir d’amore,” “Peter Grimes,” “Otello,” “Theodor,” “La bohème,” and “Ariadne auf Naxos.” The season will run from September 2024 through June 2025.
