Isabel Leonard, Tomasz Konieczny, Dmitri Hvorostovsky & Piotr Beczala headline Wiener Staatsoper’s Streaming Week

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced this week’s streaming series.

The week begins with Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” from 2018 starring Isabel Leonard, Maxim Mironov, Alessio Arduini, and Luca Pisaroni.

Streaming Date: Jan. 5, 2021

Dvořák’s “Rusalka” follows with Tomáš Hanus conducting the production from 2020. The opera stars Piotr Beczała, Olga Bezsmertna, Jongmin Park, Elena Zhidkova, and Monika Bohinec.

Streaming Date: Jan. 6, 2021

Christopher Ventris, Ain Anger, Waltraud Meier, Linda Watson, and Tomasz Konieczny highlight Wagner’s “Die Walkure” with Adam Fischer conducting a 2016 performance.

Streaming Date: Jan. 7, 2021

Adolphe Adam’s “Giselle” gets a stream from a 2018 performance with Maria Yakovleva, Masayu Kimoto, Kiyoka Hashimoto, Andrey Teterin, Elena Bottaro, and Arne Vandervelde.

Streaming Date: Jan. 8, 2021

Laura Aikin, Ludovit Ludha, Thomas Ebenstein, Margarita Gritskova, Markus Marquardt, and Heinz Zednik headline Janáček’s “The Makropolos Case.” Jakub Hrůša  conducts the 2015 performance.

Streaming Date: Jan. 9, 2021

Wagner’s “Siegfried” will be streamed from a presentation in 2016. The performance conducted by Adam Fischer stars Christian Franz, Linda Watson, Tomasz Konieczny, Herwig Pecoraro, and Jochen Schmeckenbecher.

Streaming Date: Jan. 10, 2021

Verdi’s “Don Carlo” from 2015 will end the week. The production conducted by Marco Armiliato stars Stefano Secco, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Maria Pia Piscitelli, and Béatrice Uria-Monzon.
